Jon,
Hello and Greetings from northern Indiana. I am the parent of an adult child on my insurance plan; Anthony was recently diagnosed with Crohn's, he is 25 and will roll off my plan at the end of this year. At his current job, he does not have health insurance.

I wonder in anger and amazement, like you, at this situation - what do people do who do not have insurance? I have no answers, only questions and they are questions that need to be asked, addressed and acted upon on a national level.

And also like you, I have turned to writing to begin making sense of not only my son's situation, but this whole issue of national health care. I invite you to my blog - ConfrontingCrohns at ConfrontingCrohns.com This is merely a place for this distraught parent to vent, question and to keep others aware that the concerns you and I and your friend and so many other have.

Thank you for your piece. It is very powerful. With your permission, I'd like to put a connecting link on my blog. Please know you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Blessings,
Lisa Greco

What an inspiring and moving article...Thanks Leah for educating us in this little know field. As a mother of a teenage daughter who miraculously survived a motor vehicle accident recently but now has a TBI,It was a pleasure to meet Jason, such an intelligent young man with a beaming positive attitude to life.A young man that has come so incredibly fare!

I will be sending this article to my daughter. She is at the relatively early stages of recover and I thing Jason's story will help her to accept and appreciate the new person she has/is becoming. There is support and education for families with loved ones with brain injuries.I know of a couple of place that might be helpful to those in the same position: Brain Injury.com and BRAIN INJURY ALLIANCE OF OREGON. I hope this will help those in need and others to understand the nature of this type of injury, it's effects on loved ones and how to help. Jason, you have helped us all.......THANK YOU!!

My name is Jessi. I am Jason's sister. We never really grew up together but his accident brought our family closer. The author of this article did such an amazing job on emphasizing Jason and bringing out his "true colors" it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for writing about him so people are able to appreciate what type of person Jason really is.

"Margaret Helzer is helping to organize the lecture for Monday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m. The location for the event has not been decided. Helzer has scheduled Dr. Candice Goucher, professor of history at Washington State University, to be the speaker."

Looks like somewhere on or near the Washington State University or maybe on or near the Lane Community College Campus.

That does sound quite extreme. Congrats! ASLCC to ratify the disc golf club for the second time. I truly impressed that disc golf club raised $1,100 from last term fund.

This is a great article. Its unfortunate when people feel the need to degrade some ones efforts to paint a picture of an event in favor of community in celebration, giving thanks, and getting a better understanding of culture. A thousand words they say a picture is worth. That being said, if the author left out some things that others felt important so be it. In every article that happens.

I was at the Powwow and I can say with confidence that if someone wants to have a conversation about my experience at this event I might as well read them this article.
